THE LAST TYCOONS kommen aus Dublin, Irland und spielen Rock mit R&B- und Brit-Pop-Einflüssen. Sie spielen den Rock n’ Roll wie es nur wenige Bands dieser Tage tun. Von R’n’B Balladen über zündenden Rock bis hin zu versoffen klingenden, an Tom Waits erinnernde Songs – ganz der irischen Seele entsprechend. Immer rotzig und ein wenig dreckig klingend.

Sie gehören zu Irlands „hottest new bands“ (Connected Magazine) und die Singles „Sunrise“ und „The Dry Law“ schafften es bereits in die irischen Charts. 2011 waren sie u.a. mit der irischen Rockabilly-Queen Imelda May und The Reverend Peytons Big Damn Band auf Tour.

Anfang März erscheint Ihre EP „The Porn Trauma Years“ mit Raritäten und bisher unveröffentlichten Songs, bevor sie im Winter 2012 ein neues Album vorlegen wollen.

The Last Tycoons evolved from highly acclaimed Dublin band Porn Trauma. Hailed as “one of Ireland’s hottest new bands”, (CONNECTED MAG) there is plenty to get excited about. Their sound can be described as bluesy rock with a certain britpop attitude.

From old style R’n’B to narrative ballads, fiery rock n’ roll to dark boozy tunes reminiscent of Tom Waits, the band centres around strong lyrics and a raucous live show worthy of the Pogues. They have toured relentlessly over the last few years and went on tour with irish rockabilly queen Imelda May in 2011.

The Last Tycoons will be releasing a 5 track EP „The Porn Trauma Years“ in March before a new album should be released next winter.

The Last Tycoons bringen am 09.03.2012 ihre EP „The Porn Trauma Years“ auf den Markt. Die EP erhält 5 Songs, die entweder noch gar nicht, oder nur als Radiosingles veröffentlicht wurden. Darunter „Sunrise“, das bereits 2007 die irischen Charts enterte. Vorstellen kann man das Werk bereits hier.

The Last Tycoons will be releasing „The Porn Trauma Years“ on March, 9th 2012. The 5-track EP contains rarities and previously unreleased songs from the bands previous project „Porn Trauma“. Under them the song „Sunrise“ which entered the irish charts in 2007. You can pre-order the EP here.
